Pros

Amazing part of the country to live in, decent compensation, good benefits.

Cons

Upper leadership is left over automotive executives bringing in their buddies with no understanding of how to run a utility. For this reason, excessive micro management from the top down. Fragmented and misdirected initiatives waste time and money. Neglects the customer and doesn't reward employees. New career reward and framework has dead ended many employees. It's almost like they want us to leave in order to reduce overhead. Departments are already understaffed.

Pros

The pay is pretty good, the parental leave is good, and the 401k benefits too.

Cons

The positives we get in pay and benefit's are in great contrast to the work/life integration we are expected to manage. I say integration because the expectations of some management is work comes first, regardless what the overall company’s expectations are. The career and reward framework that was implemented in 2023 really hosed up future growth opportunities for some of the younger engineers also. Never mind the voluntary separation program in the summer of 2023 that left some departments short of employees.

Pros

401k, medical, PTO and Parental leave are good to great. Coworkers are dedicated and great to work with

Cons

Downsizing is happening all across the business. Unfortunately middle management is really where it's needed, but not happening there. Headcount reduction across the business is roughly 10% over the past year through buyouts and organic employee turnover. Wages stagnated regardless of MRV (your job value on the market ) going up. Not many opportunities to branch out to other departments or make more regardless of your value/ qualifications.
