Progression can be unclear at times

End up becoming a knowledge base for legacy software rather than a good software developer. Pay is done on years with the company and not on Title/Level/Compentancy, leading to one Senior developer who has the same amount of experience but was in support being on double the person straight becoming a software developer. The corporate side is a mess and your life is very dependant on how your team leads/product owner can cushion the rubbish that goes on. Sales sell things that we dont have and then we get pressured to get it out before a deadline pulled out of thin air and then people get told off when they are just a developer, fortunately the head of Apps and CTO is pretty switched on. The CEO wants to sell the business, has no vision and is just money hungry doesn't show real leadership and should realise you cant be a backseat CEO. Your salary will not progress and they act as if you are family but then wont negotiate a higher salary leading to good software developers jumping ship and surviving on juniors or seniors who only know legacy code.
