Job security, great benefits and a good place to get a basic understanding of how local agencies operate. You will get good experience in dealing with Caltrans California state and federal standards and specifications.

Cons

Very slow paced environment. The people are very comfortable with old ways of doing things and are slow to adapt to new work standards.
