Company doesn't value engineers

Pros

There were some good colleagues although most of them have left (leaving the bad ones...). Some interesting technologies / products / projects to work on.

Cons

The biggest problem with the company is that it does not believe in delivering a proper service/solution to customers. The Sales team over promises and under deliver. All the blame are pushed to the engineers when things go wrong. Very often, things goes wrong as there are flaws in the product/solutions.

Pros

Flexible working hours and if assigned to the right team, doesn't need to appear in the company for days/months.

Cons

Extremely poor management of company and non-existence company culture. Competent staffs are made do all the works without decent compensation. This results in high staffs turn-around with average engineering folks staying for 1 year or less. Lack of proper training and almost non-existence HR personnel also increases the frustration of new-hire. Mostly, new hires are thrown out to the customer and drown. Mostly in-competent senior management personnel, whom have stayed on in the company for long years due to personal relationships with the CEO. It is inconceivable that these are the same group of people driving the company's directions. The opportunistic nature of the management results in unclear company strategy. Major company steering directions are only valid for 6 months or less. This results in huge employee frustration and confusion. Overall, product strategies are poor. Due to opportunistic nature of the management, less then ready products without proper product re-research nor proper QA validation are hastily put together and send out to the market. This results in major customer dissatisfaction, huge operational support/frustration and of course, the Sales is never to be found.
