working at Cordis is soul-crushing and demoralising. After the acquisition by H and F we were told there would be great opportunities for development and progression. That wasn't true at all. Instead they started immediately on a firing spree, and piled the additional resulting work onto one or two existing people- but the idea of giving them a promotion or advancement was, of course, laughable. Like the previous owners, Cordis seems to have a strict position against promoting people to management level, they would rather give the leadership of a function to an existing or externally-hired manager who knows nothing about it, and leave the existing employees in their current position but with 50x work.
