      Pros

      I had good work life balance during the job. That was mainly due to lack of work on the clients end, and has nothing to do with Core BTS. The other employees are mostly good to work with, minus some of the principle architects whom are completely self absorbed and terrible to work with

      Cons

      Nothing you do will make a difference in terms of promotions, raises, or retention. When sales is failing to get new contracts and maintain current contracts, they will perform mass layoffs of anyone and everyone, even if you do great work that nobody else wants to do. I was part of the 3rd mass layoff in a year in their attempt to maintain a bottom line of a sinking ship so executives can continue to receive bonuses and pay raises

      It wasn't the worst job I've had but I'm relieved to be done

      Pros

      Fairly stable work environment. Flexible time off (in other words unlimited PTO) was encouraged. Annual stipend for professional development was generous. Mentorship program was cool and something I haven't heard of other companies doing.

      Cons

      That 10% bonus a recruiter will tell you is "guaranteed" is a lie. It's based off of profits so get ready for a .3% bonus and an apology each quarter. When I was on projects I didn't feel like I worked at Core, it felt like I worked for the client. When I was no longer on a project, all those relationships I'd built were just gone. When you get benched you're all alone just learning new technologies and trying to stay motivated. Being on the bench for 5 months made me feel like I was stagnating in my career and there were no new available projects on the horizon. It was truly a waste of time. I'm not even sad to be done with this company, I'm annoyed that now I have to job hunt. Good riddance
