Pros

Average 50-60 hours a week The Vermont Supervisor is great person to work for. He will lead you in the right direction. He will jump on a truck and run a route almost daily depending of work flow.

Cons

Over worked and underpaid Class A drivers were told by the transportation manager that A trucks were coming when they never were Product pallets are built in Maine and shipped to Vermont so you can spend countless hours waiting for your load to arrive Trucks are complete junk. Ryder is an absolute disgrace of a leasing company. Pickers and builders have no idea what they are doing and the end result of this is hours wasted every week digging for product at a stop. You will work every holiday besides Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year. You will have to get used to the bend over and take it ideology when it comes to delivering to customers. There is no line to cross when customers are allowed to push. If you choose not to bend over and take it you most likely get kicked out of a store. Which means you would lose that route Some guys that have been around for a couple years sit on their butt and wait for other guys to do everything

Pros

While slightly below market rate, transportation jobs are usually steady and well managed.

Cons

Loved the job. Long time driver. And then.... company decided that they needed to place driver facing cameras in the trucks. They already had peoplenet, dash cam and lane deviation along with cameras in some trailers inside and out. Most drivers have no problems with any of those devices except the Driver View Cam. It also records all conversations. Most drivers did not choose the profession to be watched while driving. A few people have already left the company. Welcome to 2017.
