Pros

Reasonable decent salary for faculty, great benefits. The health insurance plan is superb and very affordable. Retirement benefits are quite good too, especially if you work for the statutory arm of the University where you get NY state retirement benefits.

Cons

The biggest con of this place is its isolated location surrounded by farms and small hamlets. The nearest biggest city is Syracuse at an hour away and NY City is 5 hours away. Philadelphia is 3 hours away. No truly big city is less than 3 hours from here. Rural location in the middle of no where can be a damper!
