      Job itself rewarding, coworkers borderline abusive

      Pros

      raise cute foals physically active no need to dress nicely for work around (mostly healthy) animals all day supervisor MADE us take breaks

      Cons

      certain longtime employees constantly verbally abusive, management does nothing about it required to complete online training on various methods of euthanasia barns lack temperature control constantly cleaning up mistakes made by students from the vet school

      There are a few bright minds there

      Cons

      A lot of politics, some PI's are less competent than some undergraduates. PI's who don't know some of the basic properties of RNA or DNA, don't know what is going on in their lab, and don't know details of their own publications. Deals are made between PI's to cover each other's backs and get promotions. Dean's making illogical decisions about the program in general. Over spending on empty buildings and then cutting back on resources.
