Pros

Operating hours are good they close early in the day

Cons

Can I give less than 1 star? The company is more concerned about their bottom line than the safety and health of their employees. They can keep saying don't come in if you feel sick but just because we don't feel sick yet doesn't mean we aren't spreading the coronavirus every day they continues to keep the stores open. They keep finding the poorest excuses to stay open even in areas where the government is telling them to shut down. They are trying to say they are an essential business because they sell personal hygiene products. They are not open to the public and their sister company sallys who is open to the public has already closed their stores. By staying open they are allowing hairdressers to work illegally and continue to spread the virus

Nothing is ever good enough, until you're dead.

Pros

Decent discount Pretty good retail hours Store management can (YMMV) be really great.

Cons

They will literally make you work through a pandemic, without access to cleaners, gloves, masks (and not allow you to wear them on the clock- even if you provide them), or increased pay for dangerous working conditions. You can use vacation if you have any, but if they close your store and give disaster pay, you aren't eligible for disaster pay. Also, taking your earned vacation time during the coronavirus outbreak is subject to your store hours being covered by other employees. They put employees in situations where we receive credible death threats from customers. (Sometimes because of corporate guidelines, and sometimes just for explaining that you have to be licensed to shop there). Upper management plays favorites to the extreme Territory managers have been known to ACTIVELY go against corporate policy if it means making an extra dollar (even through diversion) It doesn't matter how much money your store makes, corporate and territory managers will expect more and more money and growth, despite achieving more than the rest of your district COMBINED. Nothing is ever good enough. Prepare to make the most amount of product moves in the history of businesses, as their planoguides change sometime monthly for multiple brands. It's as if they don't know what brands are releasing new items, except they know almost a year ahead in most cases. It's busy work for employees who aren't being paid to be a merchandiser, and have too many other things to do. Prepare to be overworked and VERY underpaid. Also, don't have any overtime, because even a minute over can result in a write-up. Speaking of which, write-ups are a double edged sword. Some employees may have earned 10+ write-ups, but corporate won't let managers fire them for undisclosed reasons. And some employees get 1 write-up, and they are terminated without the manager's approval. (And no, it wasn't because of the severity of the offense). Plus, sometimes district managers won't bring the paperwork for write-ups to be official. It doesn't matter if you show up on time, your coworkers probably won't. And they won't get in trouble either, because Cosmoprof only cares that they can pay them pennies less because of the minutes they haven't worked. Managerial training is at such a low level that a high school dropout could pass it. Many coworkers don't know anything about the products or how to use them, because you don't have to be licensed in cosmetology, esthetics, nails, or massage to work here. Very rarely (once every few years) are there positions to move up to.
