Pros

I can't think of any.

Cons

Very stressful working environment due to being short-staffed stemming from high employee turnover.

Caring for our seniors is very hard work, but the rewards are plenty! (We consider that a HUGE pro!) It's sad you didn't enjoy the opportunities to build relationships with these amazing individuals. Staffing is a crisis in every industry these days, especially in healthcare settings. Country Meadows’ Human Resources team is working even harder to recruit the right co-workers to support our amazing residents. Good luck.

Country Meadows works hard to create a positive environment for co-workers as well as the residents we serve. We have numerous ways for co-workers to report issues and concerns. None of the concerns you mention have been shared with our Corporate team. Good luck to you.

Pros

The restidents. They were the only reason i enjoy this type of setting.

Cons

I was hired on as a baker but was to serve lunch and dinner down the hall. Also did 12 hour days on weekends because of being short which was ok at first but the person stepping in should be sou chef or head chef not the new person. Come in the one day and the day before the dessert wasn't made that was on menu and they expected me to make it plus next day desserts on top of serving lunch and dinner. Their full time hours if 56 so the chances of overtime was not likely.

We are thrilled to read that you enjoyed getting to know our residents. They have led amazing lives and are truly a joy. Spending time with them is very rewarding. Thank you for recognizing their value and appreciating their life experiences. The culinary job description lists job responsibilities including food preparation, cooking, serving and clean up. Prospective co-workers are provided with job descriptions so they understand what is expected of them to help deliver high quality services to our residents. There are certain functions in every job that people enjoy the most, and it would be great if we could focus on just the fun stuff. However, we work as a team and that means working together to make life better for our residents. Best of luck to you.
