Our residents make it all worthwhile and we have our co-workers to thank for making their lives better. We recognize, appreciate and value every contribution of every co-worker. The overall job market for most businesses has been tough during this pandemic, but we never lost focus on supporting our staff and recruiting even more great individuals. This remains our priority. We're sorry to hear you feel management didn't care for our teams as it was they who sourced and paid the premium price for PPE when other healthcare providers and employers laid off staff unable to commit to that large investment, offered appreciation pay, gifted staff and their families with household necessities when scarce, packaged complimentary meals for co-workers to take home, advocated for priority access to the vaccine and boosters right on campus and issued across-the-board pay increase during the height of COVID. Our upper management team would have loved the opportunity to have discussed your concerns directly as they offer every team member. We wish you well.

Sorry to hear of this impression. We are glad to hear you enjoyed engaging with our residents (they are one of the best rewards for this job). Our campus and corporate management teams round with co-workers to learn of what is working and where there are opportunities to improve along with anonymous surveys after shifts to glean real-time feedback. And while training was adjusted during the pandemic when you were transitioning due to COVID restrictions, we are glad to have returned to our in-person, hands-on on-boarding which we know is the preferred interaction (we agree!). We hope you have found another fulfilling opportunity.

Pros

the residents are very sweet … that’s it

Cons

- low pay - clicks at work so you’ll always feel left to fend for yourself - nasty co workers and the med techs think they’re about PCA”s (only bc they make a $1 more….) - low support from management - that one overnight nurse - often felt like a servant vs a healthcare employee - stressful environment

Your comments are puzzling as we routinely receive very positive remarks about our Wyomissing campus from both co-workers and residents. Country Meadows works hard to create a positive environment for co-workers as well as the residents we serve, and have numerous ways for co-workers to report concerns, including a hotline and "Stupid Rules" web page for staff to share concerns anonymously. Best of luck to you.
