Decent, independent work environment. They are also comparatively generous with their employees in terms of beneifts.

* The publication I was on seemed to have this odd bias for Jewish employees. I mean, not in a terrible way, but Jewish employees were treated better, given better assignments and got promoted faster than others, no matter the merits or what work was performed. It was all very strange. Crain's work format seems to be a bit outdated and sometimes conflicted. Advertising people run the publications, and have a say in the editorial direction of the publications, so you're never really going to get an hard-breaking news stories that say anything that the advertising firms don't want to be said. Crain's also is still late to the digital/social media age.
