Better than most media companies in Chicago. Would be a good place for a young- to mid-career journalist to hone their skills.

Cons

Management seems unsure about what direction to take the company in.

Really nice people, if they believe in you, they work hard to keep you.

Cons

Not a lot of sense of direction from the very top. When there were cutbacks during the financial crisis, communication was poor

Pros

The company had a great culture! People there were great to work with, they were laid back but knew when to lock down and get things done.

Cons

The magazine/publication industry is very rough. With that in mind, job security is very low, and you could be laid off due to the budget. Also, the pay is low, but that is expected with this career in multimedia.
