Pros

Crane Worldwide Logistics is a relatively new company comprised entirely of leadership from the former EGL. They are well funded and operate relatively debt free. For their age, they have a pretty decent global network and are open to expansion where a business case exists.

Cons

The most important thing to understand about CWW is that from top to bottom and everywhere in the middle, CWW is run by older white sales guys. Every Regional VP is a salesman, every District Director is a sales guy. Most station managers are sales guys. This leads to a gulf of understanding when it comes to the nuts and bolts of operations, the setting of unrealistic expectations, and a total dearth of operational support from above. Crane Worldwide also lacks any type of training program whatsoever. This doesnt just include theoretical training that would improve ones job performance but amazingly even the technical training on how to use their own operating system. When you are hired you are either given a chair behind an already overworked operator for a few hours or simply given a stapled bunch of screenshots and told to get to work. That is the extent of training at CWW. This leads to an extreme diversity in abilities from office to office and a wildly inconstant product. While they pride themselves on their technology package it's generally all a charade. All shipment milestones are done manually if they are remembered at all. It would be akin to typing a search into Google and having someone on the other side have to go to another search engine, find the answer, and then come back and type it back in so you could see it. The trustworthieness of their data is limited at best.

Pros

Crane does have a very nice gym and a deli in their brand new facility, and they do care about safety and they do give back to the community, but....

Cons

working around management that is very well aware of the drama that exceeds in this place is unruly. It's the type of job where you come in, keep your head low, do you work and go home. I work in the finance dept and we do not get along w/ each other, there is more drama that I care to work around, and finance managers are not fit to manage teams. Seems here if you dress the part, ie high heels, fake nails, fake hair and fake chests, then you must be worthy of a management position. I am currently looking for my way out. I would highly recommend a different dept as I can't review other depts, but stay clear of their corporate finance dept. Unless your male. Which they don't hire.

Pros

This company will bring you on with big goals. They are cutting their budget and you won't be a part of it. If they are trying to hire you, ask to see the budget before they hire you or do your own research. Ensure they give you goals and benchmarks. There are some great managers and great people on the teams, but upper level management is foul.

Cons

They cut people with no notice when the money isnt flowing. If you are reading this review in 2017, STAY away. Move to DHL or a more established company with overhead. This company just posted they hired 6 new VP's yet failed to mention how many people they have dropped as a result. Guard your time and energy, this company is not safe to come on with unless you only want a short term job.
