Pros

Very strong, very people and family oriented top leadership. Of all the companies I have worked for since college many years ago, this company easily outshines the others in caring for employees. There is no other company in our industry that invests in employee training as heavily as Crescent does and this is the key for anyone who wants to create a rewarding career for themselves. This company has countless examples of people rising from a beginning position, working in the warehouse or driving a delivery truck, to a senior level position. How fast you move and how much you earn is based on how hard you want to work. This is how it is supposed to work in America. During my career, I have worked for companies that were dominated by politics and brown nosing. You will not find that at Crescent. Try buttering up the CEO at this company and he will chuckle and tell you to save that for customers!

Cons

The company is a bit on the conservative side.

This review accurately describes the culture at Crescent Electric Supply Company. Some individuals may think that you just have to put in the "time" in order to move up in the company. At Crescent Electric, we have great opportunities for the individuals who put in the "work".

Cons

No company is perfect but I would say that out of all the organizations I have worked for this is home to me. I really don't see any major downsides to working for Crescent Electric Supply Company.

This review hits it right on the head. One of the biggest advantages of working for Crescent Electric Supply Company, according to many employees I have spoke to, is that the branches have the power to make decisions at the local level without jumping through a bunch of hoops. Also, the stability is another reason many employees stay with Crescent for decades. We are coming up on our 95th anniversary. There aren't too many companies out there with that type of longevity.

Large, stable, growing organization with a family feel

Pros

Growingn company. Finanically secure. Very strong operationally. In the process of making necessary investments in technology (new operating system, etc.). Local management given significant autonomy with the support of a larger company. Willing to invest in employee training and development. I've always been treated fairly.

Cons

Outside of the Corp Office, cultures can vary on some things. Conserative finacial style while having positives,probably limited Co growth in the past. This seems to be changing.
