      A few wonderful co-workers over the years.

      Cons

      Frustrating place to work. Boys club. Constant sexual harassment and looked down on for being a woman. No promotion opportunities, pay below industry standard, constant threats of layoffs, too many managers not on the same page, turn-over of quality employees is huge. When lay-offs happen, work load becomes unmanageable. Corporate could care less. They will constantly blame the account managers and branch managers for the slowing sales when in fact they refuse to keep reasonable inventory. The company is going down fast. I should give a "0" to all the ratings. Don't even apply here...promises are not kept even if in writing.

      Crescent Electric has clear policies against harassment of any kind and provides multiple avenues for employees to bring concerns to the Human Resources Department. We do not condone this type of activity. If the HR Department had received a complaint, it would have been immediately investigated and addressed. Crescent offers multiple opportunities for promotion and utilizes a formal succession planning program to facilitate these types of conversations between employees and their managers. Over the past year approximately 100 Crescent employees have received a promotion. Crescent offers competitive pay and benefits. We use multiple data sources specific to the electrical distribution industry to ensure we are offering and maintaining competitive pay.

      Pros

      I can only say my District Branch Manager was the only true representation of professionalism and hope for success. Crescent Electric wasn't worthy of such a prowess class act.

      Cons

      Completely disorganized. Internal politics reigns over the interest of growth and servicing the customer. They single-handily sabotage their own success. From the owner to the Vice President to regional management. No one knows who's in charge because everyone is in charge. Throw their weight around making sure you understand your place. Not professional at all. Management chased customers away and made it impossible to improve brand image. Had to close doors because they refused to address branch needs, inventory, HR issues were a nightmare. They permitted open sexual harassment, unruly subordinates and lack of communication to get urgent tasks accomplished. When they cruelly came to close the branch, I advised them there was no other option with the way they run things that this ships fate was inevitable.

      Crescent Electric has been a successful and growing family owned business since 1919. We are one of the top 10 electrical distributors in the nation. We aren’t going anywhere. All companies of our size will occasionally close a business location. Economies change, markets change, customers change, competition changes, supplier lines change, employees change, etc. Closing a location is difficult for employees, customers, and the Company but it is sometimes necessary. Crescent Electric has clear policies against harassment of any kind and provides multiple avenues for employees to bring concerns to the Human Resources Department. Employees sign off on our harassment prevention policy on a regular basis and we require managers to go through training on this subject. If the HR Department received a complaint, it would have been immediately investigated and addressed. Furthermore, if this person was a manager as claimed, they were the primary person responsible for maintaining proper discipline and conduct in the branch, ensuring proper communication was occurring, and ensuring a workplace free of harassment of all types. We have many positive reviews from current and past employees listed on this site. Please read those reviews for a more balanced picture of the overall Company.

      Pros

      A lot of great people to work with. Small pockets of good leadership.

      Cons

      No rewards for great performance. No consequences for poor performance. Lack of communication. Upper Management has a compartmentalized, secretive approach to the dissemination of information that directly affects employees. Management selfishly blocks employee advancement opportunities.
