Pros

Crowe has a depth and breadth of services you'd expect from the 9th largest firm so you won't get bored. If you are driven there's no lack of opportunity to excel, but you must be willing to cultivate relationships while you are growing your technical skills. Leaders that take control of their careers will enjoy this firm, but those that just work hard and wait for promotion will have a tougher road. If you have any ability to sell, leadership will give you support financially to chase prospective clients. I also enjoy the casual dress policy in office and the where to work flexibility. Overall the people in this firm are the best part of working here, it's large so there are some difficult people mixed in there but the culture and principles of care, share, invest and grow tends to win out over those few that focus more on themselves than their team.

Cons

The bar to make partner is set very high and takes longer than other firms, however the financial rewards at partner are also much higher than many other national and regional firms.

Pros

Got my start at Crowe Horwath and am thankful I had the opportunity. The people are great, the company provides an abundance of free food during busy season, they push working from home occasionally, and my busy season hours usually topped off around 55 hrs. / week. PTO policy is somewhat generous at 4 weeks and I never had any issue using the time.

Cons

While I got lucky with my busy season, most of my coworkers were working 60-65 hrs. / week. Compensation seems to be roughly 5% under market (there was no pay bump for being promoted to senior, just the normal merit increase). Hated the open office concept that got introduced in late 2016. Morale seems to be in turmoil and there's been a lot of turnover at the staff / senior staff level from old coworkers I've talked to.

Pros

- The Where to Work Policy (ability to work remotely) is one of my favorite parts about Crowe - Benefits are much better than your average company - Maternity / paternity leave policies are better than most companies in the industry - CEO has been successful in differentiating the firm through the implementation of employee-first policies

Cons

- Work weeks are almost always more than 40 hours - Compensation could be better
