Pros

Awesome Office Culture - many people are friends outside of work Career Path is Clearly defined Access to client facing work very early in your career Very competent middle management who does a great job of making you feel valued Friendly, collaborative environment. A lot of highly knowlegeable people who all work very well in teams. This is a key emphasis in their interview process. Benefits are pretty good, including 4 weeks PTO from day 1.

Cons

Compensation is on the low end. It's back loaded compensation model, where you need to make it to Senior Manager or Partner to really make it worth your while monitarily. Staff and Senior Staff are paid under market value. Communication of the leadership team of company strategy and initiatives is poor, but they do understand it's an issue and are working on it. Not a lot of local clients, but again, they understand it's an issue and it's currently the central issue they know they need to fix. They put ownership on the individual to meet a rather agressive chargeable hours goal, which is most often not within the individuals control. A byproduct of this is that there currently is no incentive to come in under budget on projects, which can become a core problem when the majority of the projects are fixed bid (as they are on the IT consulting side). You have to sell to be a partner. That's great if you have great leaders who can also sell, but what can often happen is you get someone in a leadership position who has poor leadership qualities just because they are good in sales.

Pros

Smaller firm atmosphere with some opportunity to work on larger clients you won’t find at a local firm. The experience you gain can get you an interview at smaller fortune 1000 or larger private company. Good investments in audit technology. Good benefits.

Cons

Soft skills are a MUST to succeed and networking with managers and senior managers is required to advance. Upper management’s competency to forecast revenue is very suspect (caused excessive hiring and then mass layoffs). Management isn’t always honest with employees. The whole work review process needs an overhaul. Good work reviews does not mean your performance is meeting expectations. Does not have the resources or talent pool to compete with the Big Four and high bill rates make it hard to gain smaller clients. The Big Four is matching audit fees and taking clients.
