Pros

I have to say, Crowe is a great company to work for. I am on the audit side, so if you handle an average of 60 hours per week during busy season, then you will love this company. Everyone is so helpful and will answer any questions you have. All employees act as team members for the bigger overall goal of the company. I haven't run across too many people with big egos or people that try to intimidate you. Everyone is very inviting and always trying to help out. It has been a great overall experience for me thus far.

Cons

Only downside is working long hours and working Saturdays during busy season, but that comes with working with any accounting firm. It is very manageable and not excessive here.

Pros

* Public accounting experience * Learning what management techniques motivate people and what techniques do not.

Cons

* Current audit software was internally developed and is a consistent work in process. * Partners are sales focused only under Jim Powers and have left the client development segment up to the managers, that normally pass the buck to the seniors. * Managers to Staff are graded on hours worked rather than quality of work and current client engagement. * Cast (Mostly Non-Accountants) are hired in at low salaries and expected to perform 40% of engagements to bring up the realizations. * Experienced, loyal employees are being let go in order to improve financials, leaving inexperienced teams. (This has been going on since 2016) * Partners are in a disarray as they do not all buy into the firm's future. * Employee moral is extremely low

Pros

Got my start at Crowe Horwath and am thankful I had the opportunity. The people are great, the company provides an abundance of free food during busy season, they push working from home occasionally, and my busy season hours usually topped off around 55 hrs. / week. PTO policy is somewhat generous at 4 weeks and I never had any issue using the time.

Cons

While I got lucky with my busy season, most of my coworkers were working 60-65 hrs. / week. Compensation seems to be roughly 5% under market (there was no pay bump for being promoted to senior, just the normal merit increase). Hated the open office concept that got introduced in late 2016. Morale seems to be in turmoil and there's been a lot of turnover at the staff / senior staff level from old coworkers I've talked to.
