Pros

I feel lucky to have found this company, and I don’t plan on leaving. In my experience, the companies who truly care for employees are few and far between. I’m disheartened by those who feel otherwise and hope they feel empowered to go to alertline or how do you expect change to happen? I’m confused by the comments that say this company is too concerned about growing the bottom line -at the end of the day people, this is a business, and we are all in it to succeed and make money. This company has grown so fast in the last few years and obviously there will be bumps along the way. Life is too short to be unhappy, so if you’re unhappy, maybe it’s time to move on but the grass likely wont be greener. The 401 match and stock award are incredible. The salary is great. Overall, I’m happy to go to work each day. Most people are genuinely good although there seem to be more toxic people than when I started.

Cons

The generosity of this company has bred entitled employees.

Pros

This used to be a great company.

Cons

Too much focus on customers and not employees. CEO is interested in only hiring friends into leadership positions that are never posted or discussed prior to hiring. And he’s only interested in company profit, it doesn’t matter any more if employees are happy or advancing. Health Insurance plan is terrible to deal with. B3s are not followed or enforced on anyone. Tower employees are neglected.

Thank you for sharing your views. We read all feedback posted on Glassdoor to look at where we can continue to improve. We’re proud of our focus on delivering for our customers, and believe it’s a key part of our success. We also work hard to create a great place to work, as evidenced by Crown Castle winning employee engagement awards for the last three years in a row, with 92% of employees saying they believe that Crown Castle cares about them. Our success has driven rapid growth across our business, and we know there still more we can do to create a consistently great employee experience across the entire company. We’d genuinely like to understand your feedback in more detail if you feel comfortable sharing. You can continue to contribute your views via our intranet, the Q&A in our Company Conversations, or drop me an email directly (you can find my details on our intranet).

Pros

Healthcare Benefits and 401 (K)

Cons

Leadership promotes “being real” and transparent but they really are not. Company conversation answers are pretty vague in my opinion. For example someone asked Jay if it was true about the rumors of a new office building. He flat out said no but if there was he would let us know. A few months later there was an announcement about it. I feel like Jay could have said it’s something they are looking into but decisions have not been finalized. It’s hard to trust what they say is real or political answers. Mid level managers get there by befriending higher leadership personnel although they lack leadership qualities. No mentoring or care for direct reports. Crown says it’s proud of its culture but it’s like a sinking ship. Sadly no diversity! If anything there will be teams of all whites and one minority’s race just to say “we are diverse”. When asked about diversity Jay said Laura Nichol makes their executive team diverse (all white males with one white female.) Pay is not transparent. Employees are slowly finding out the compensation, bonus and PTO varies even though same position and work load are the same. Makes us feel unappreciated and cheated. No flexibility. Crown Castle does not trust employees to work from home at least once a week. Only certain people of course can work from home some days of the week, week of holidays, leave home early on Friday’s, etc. Exempts get away with not using PTO until it’s the end of year and use it all during holidays. Christmas Eve is not a holiday. Does not allow me to spend time with my family who IS off during this holiday. I was told to utilize my PTO although I am at the lowest rate of PTO and have to ration my time off during the year for personal sick days, daughters sick days, family vacations. Religious holidays, etc. While others with less experience are accruing at the max rate and like I mentioned before can get away with not tracking PTO properly.
