Pros

Cool mission, the comp seems competitive(until your first tax filing after stock/bonus)

Cons

Poor lower level management. Your manager will give new tasks to complete before you can take a sick day--during a pandemic, at that! The cliques rule every decision and have driven off most of the good engineers and managers who didn't come from the same background. I was honestly shocked at how unethical things are run, across organizations and from top to bottom. Don't even think about speaking up for safety concerns if it could negatively affect your manager's goals for his/her review. Engineers have been leaving in droves and with more engineering projects coming up, Cruise is using contractors to fill in the gaps.

Pros

Nothing at this company works. It sucks and it will fail

Cons

Do not work here. It literally is the worse place in Silicon Valley to work. Everybody here hates their life, regardless of function (engineer, PM, design, etc.). This company is a disgarace, trust me don’t work here.

Pros

The recruiting org is comprised of highly productive individuals, who would most likely do well under almost any conditions. The company is working on great, society-changing technology. The mission is amazing.

Cons

However, the politicking, lying, favoritism, and underhandedness among the leadership, particularly on the people/recruiting front, will hinder meaningful growth and will cause there to be a ton of churn. Don't take my word for it. Just look at the history. Short tenures and departures under sketchy circumstances abound. If you are a serious recruiting pro, who wants to build a career on merit and good work, I would avoid this company.
