Highly recommend for focused and motivated people
Pros
- A lot of challenging work to be done which translates to really great opportunities to take something on, own it, and shine. - Really great culture of hardworking, mature employees who care about working towards a common goal. The people care about each other and work together well. - Kyle (CEO) does an awesome job of maintaining focus and keeping the company aligned in the best possible direction. He is very approachable and has no chip on his shoulder despite an impressive background. - Good culture outside of work also; many people at Cruise have really diverse/interesting hobbies and it's easy to make good conversation and have a good time with coworkers. - Work/life balance is good and it is never frowned upon or discouraged to go on vacation as long as it isn't taken advantage of. Depending on your habits/perspective I would say working hours are reasonable. - Very positive working relationship with parent company, General Motors. We have a nice balance of support from them plus startup agility and speed.
Cons
- Mentorship is decent depending on the team but if you require a lot of oversight or aren't comfortable teaching yourself this might not be the place for you. Being a relatively young/new company you need to be highly self-motivated, fast learning, and naturally strive for uncompromising quality; there are no shortcuts.
