Great while small, not so much as scaled

Pros

Great culture, diverse group of people, great benefits

Cons

As company grew, management had trouble managing expectations and seeing clearly the critical ons-goings of the daily grind. Managers with lack of experience led to loss of productivity and strain.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Scaling a company as quickly as we are can come with growing pains. We appreciate you sharing your experience and will work with our managers to improve in this area. We want all Cruise employees to know that their feedback is valuable and I’m sorry to hear this was not your experience.

Pros

- Cruise has a lot of money and they pay towards the top of the market - Unlimited PTO ( although top performers will not take advantage) - Meals and Snacks - Lots of fun, good people. Very easy to make friends outside of work here - There could be space to learn if you get on with a good manager (woudn't bet on it)

Cons

- The politics are extremely intense here: - You have people within teams behaving cut throat to prove to management that they are the best - constant firings in all leadership levels and teams - teams fighting for projects - constant bad-mouthing others for not performing on your team and across teams. This builds an anxiety driven atmosphere; you don't really know who you can trust - I felt that working here made me a worse person because it's difficult to not get caught up in the environment - Brain Drain: The best people leave - Many, many people only handle the environment through prescription drugs (anti-depressants, sleeping pills, anti-anxiety) - Company confidence is extremely low - Diversity is poor

Pros

* Cruise pays well * You don't need to work crazy hard to get good performance reviews * Most people are pretty chill

Cons

* There's so little room to go above-and-beyond - even if you want to work hard, you'll be restricted * The company is hiring way too quickly - we're losing track of who we were and just trying to fill seats
