Pros
Flexibility is probably the best part about working here. Yes, there is a 2,000 hours/year (167 hours/month) requirement but they are very reasonable in allowing a new person a little wiggle room in terms of hitting their hour. Hours are typically checked every month or two months so there is no pressure to hit a specific number of hours every day or week. There is also plenty of work to go around so if you are having trouble with hours you can always ask for more work. Partners and associates alike are very good about giving guidance on how to best capture your time. In addition, depending on the partner you work under, it is very easy to work from home whenever you want so long as you do not have to be in court, a deposition, or a mediation in person. Another pro is that partners tend to be more than happy to review your assignments and answer any questions you have. If you don't want to bother a partner, you can always ask a fellow associate for templates or pointers for different assignments. The workplace is also pretty collegial and there are regular office lunches, happy hours, and other events. The breakroom has plenty of different coffees, snacks, and a soda fountain with different Coke products and flavors. Finally, the starting pay is decent and you can get regular pay raises yearly and sometimes your partner may surprise you and your fellow associates with a bonus occasionally. There is also health insurance, life insurance, and other benefits you can sign up for. The firm will pay for your Bar dues and CLEs. Though I have not quite made it a year, I do see myself being here a long time.
Cons
There aren't very many serious cons. One con is that some partners aren't as flexible as others. Another con is that for some people, the pay is not as good as other major firms (in Atlanta/Metro-Atlanta).
