Pros

Flexible hours. great coworkers. department heads and store level management very good. decent pay.

Cons

Very, very very few opportunities for promotions. Each store is given a certain amount of full time employees that they are allowed to have, so it is a slim chance that you will get full time status.

Senior leadership lacks accountability and integrity

Pros

Good store level team work. Union environment with guaranteed wages and benefits. Good part time job once you put a few years in.

Cons

Continually told to accomplish more with less resources and support. DO NOT accept a managerial role here. Mostly out of touch with what the customers truly want. Every 2-4 years the parent company Supervalu gets new leadership and tries to reinvent the company. This cycle burns bridges with the customers versus building relationships with them. It's a different shopping experience with every leadership change.
