Pros

Good pay, benefits, and a team atmosphere.

Cons

They tend to lay people off every 4 years, not something I look for in a company.

Pros

Cummins really supports diversity at all levels. Lot of focus on development of employees. Encourages employees to get involved in the community. Technology leader in the industries it works in. Great place for Sourcing professionals. Very mature processes in sourcing, supplier relationship management, risk management and quality.

Cons

Limited autonomy. The hierarchy sometimes slows the work whether it's signing contracts or decisions around supplier selection, supplier capacity increases, hiring employees etc. Aggressive cost targets but limited engineering resources to execute value engineering or resourcing projects. Getting more and more difficult to get promotions. As a company, Cummins hires aggressively during growth cycles and then lets lot of good people go during downward business cycles.
