      Pros

      Pros are they pay very well and care about the community.

      Cons

      Layoffs every 2-3yrs don't care about employees only care about keeping investors happy, and profits high. When they do layoffs they release around 2K people, and about 1-3 months later rehire 2-3K new people. Always seems to claim it's an "economic" down turn for layoffs. Offer terrible medical benefits to exempt employees, and executives get better medical benefits. Some areas within the company are bad with work/life balance and not flexible with working hours.

      Pros

      Columbus is a nice family town and some good people work at Cummins

      Cons

      Every 3 or 4 years Cummins has a "reduction in force". It's like playing Russian roulette. Some groups are "safe", some get "reduced". Age, performance, years of service, none of it matters. If it is your only offer, take it. If you can go elsewhere, I would. Good luck to you!

      Pros

      Working at Cummins will always bring a friendly environment with tons of flexibility. Overall the benefits are pretty good as well

      Cons

      Lack of leadership willing to help employees grow professionally. They consistently pay and give raises below industry standard and find ways to "promote" you with more responsibility but at the same pay saying it will be good experience and that they will revisit compensation at a later time.. they never do
