Pros

If you like working, this is the place for you. Pay is good. Free food.

Cons

Management needs a complete overhaul. Regardless of where you specialize in the IT world, you will be subjected to grueling hours. Every single project turns into a crisis. This is due to lack of communication, poor planning and overall bad project management. Many hours are wasted at a time figuring out solutions in the aftermath of poor decision making. The Support department was recently gutted due to bad decisions /metric data. This in turn backfired on the company as it caused some remaining employees to seek other opportunities. This left the team stretched too thin and with little coverage. You will never enjoy a weekend here... There are endless hours that you can work here. You will be salary which allows the company to extort you for "the business." You will never feel satisfied that you have completed a task because there is never time for a reprieve. In light of this, the company decided it was best to thin the already overworked IT Support department. To combat this the company offers "unlimited" PTO. There are many good people at Curative. Which is extremely sad because they can do so much better. They know it and you know it. You run the risk of your manager not having any experience or expertise in the field that they are managing. Management operates as a mouth piece for upper managent. In this case there is nothing your manager can provide you with since you will know more than them. It is very much like Ron Swanson going to Lowe's and telling the employee, "I don't need help because I know more than you." You will be left with feelings of despair since you will not be supported by your manager. You will hear things like "I've got your back" from management, and then get crushed and left soulless by their decrees. You will quickly learn to never trust your manager. It is truly sad to watch as they bend to every whim. You will be exposed to COVID many times. Accidents and spills in the laboratory occur often. As if this is not enough, you will be met by the unholy and wretched asset management system. Equipment is stolen often. The company does not have any working policies to stop theft. They are in a huge transition period. The fate of the organization hangs on the balance of a huge boondoggle coming to fruition. The company is betting every cent they have on a completely new business. The start date of this business continues to be pushed back meanwhile the demand and frequency of COVID testing is waning. The company essentially burns dumpsters worth of cash daily. HR has essentially given up. They see the writing on the wall and are dropping like flies. Anyone and not just the IT field should use extreme caution getting caught up with Curative.
