Pros

Indianapolis location : Good learning opportunity. My skills as an organic chemist improved significantly. Running a high volume of reactions while focusing on safety and efficiency is a good learning experience. Great stepping stone for young organic chemists.

Cons

Indianapolis location: Very limited involvement in research. We synthesize molecules for Lilly with no knowledge of evaluations, findings, or overall research project. Almost like a small molecule factory. Right wing supervisors and peers are extremely politically vocal at work. Race, gender, and nationality jokes are considered fair game. Promotions are erratic, no one knows the requirements. Company seems to be on the decline. Salaries are far below industry standard.
