Pros

When I worked there, they had decent health insurance for staff. Time off ostensibly was nice, however I was so overworked that I consistently had to do work at home on weekends, holidays, and "break" to keep up.

Cons

Outdated technology, for students, faculty, and staff. A lack of progressive vision from leadership, at the president down. Run like a summer camp. HR has a hands off approach with department heads, which allows for a variety of labor violations and toxic environments - if you work here and experience discrimination or labor violations, plan to make a complaint to agencies outside the school as no one in the school will help (and will likely take steps that will make your job worse). If you are young, healthy, and can afford to be underpaid, overworked, and abused for a few years, it's ok for entry level positions to get yourself some experience. Just know that you will hate your life many days while you are employed there.

Curry's Undoing is its own fault

Pros

Why is Curry in such bad financial shape holding on for dear life when it's already DOA on life support? Don't look too far at the personal social media accounts of Curry admin staff jetsetting in first class to events and conferences that have little impact to student success (because they don't report-out or implement what they've learned at said events). If you're going to flaunt luxury flights and hotels, at least show some ROI.

Cons

Overpaid admin positions with little experience and bloated salaries. When the doors close and the campus is foreclosed upon, you won't have to look too hard or too far to realize how this all happened. You brought it upon yourselves.

The worst place I ever worked

Pros

Some great students, administrative staff, and dining and facilities staff were always wonderful. Some decent leadership. There were too many cons though.

Cons

My supervisor was a narcissist (white, male) who's supervisor used to be his professional peer. When I reported my experience to her (white, female), she did not take me seriously and continued to enable him. His M.O. was loaded with passive aggressive behavior, which is difficult to document. When I took it to HR, they were all status quo, protecting the institution at the expense of integrity. I ran from that place and will never tolerate a supervisor who is still emotionally 6 years old.
