Pros

Health care contributions was good and campus was beautiful

Cons

I loved working at the college for the first few years but then as years went by they kept not refilling positions which meant more work for less people and no extra pay. They hire people that are awful managers and create toxic work environments.

Pros

Great location, people, and environment. Was able to manage both taking classes at the school and work. Great work/life balance that was available.

Cons

Library can get a little unorganized and it is put on you to fix it. Sometimes hard to get into contact with the person you're looking for.

Pros

Student affairs staff and leadership is extremely supportive and aware of the need for mental health days, ongoing professional development, and support through team learning initiatives such as book readings, trainings, off-campus professional development, etc. Very positive group of people that truly care about your well-being and the need for resource allocation and new ideas. Bi-annual retreats are well-organized and provide the opportunity for staff members to communicate their creative ideas and innovative best practices.

Cons

Some of the senior leaders including the president are more focused on dollars coming in and special projects (new unnecessary buildings, etc) rather than the student experience. One of the strategic pillars is an emphasis on diversity while there is consistently only one staff member expected to run point on all diversity related measures. Small private colleges in NE are struggling and I wish Curry took advantage of the things that set them apart from the other schools in the area: small class sizes, unique residence halls, personal approach, etc.
