Pros

Excellent benefits (four weeks vacation starting, reduced Summer hours, extra full week off between Christmas and New Years), flexible work schedule

Cons

Technology infrastructure is old (computers using Windows XP when I started, upgraded to Windows 7 in 2012 barely meeting minimum requirements). Pay is lower compared to both competitors in higher ed as well as Greater Boston in general. Everyone essentially fears the "wrath" or scorn of the college president -- he is clearly an intelligent individual with a challenging position, but there is a strong intimidation factor. Very few opportunities for career advancement, both vertically or laterally. No incentives for delivering strong work.

Pros

Vacation Time, Holidays, Sick Time, Health Insurance, Dental Insurance, etc

Cons

Very minimal pay compared to competitors, no reward for doing a good job. Everyone gets the same pay increase regardless of their contribution
