Pros

- Amazing, very academic group of people - Very friendly start up environment - Amazing perks and office, care about employees wellbeing - Engineering culture was brilliant

Cons

- Engineering team and managers were amazing but no trust was put into them by C-level team, meant that things couldn't develop with momentum for a tech company. Quite a big shame having all the resources (great engineers, funding) but the confidence was missing from leadership. - CTO very detached from what is happening in engineering team (although a lovely person) - Cytora are currently scrambling for a product market fit - There have been many 180 turns in what the product is for the company, feels uncertain about how many times a company can do that and continue succeeding through funding rounds

Pros

Intelligent employees Fairly open culture Nice serviced offices Snacks Annual trip abroad

Cons

Cytora is currently failing. They're desperately searching for 'product-market fit' which is eluding them. As such, they are continually restructuring teams, hiring people to then make them redundant months later, and working key members of staff beyond their limit (resulting in one senior team member reduced to tears in the office due to exhaustion). Other key members have recognised this and left. Machine Learning features less and less in their product roadmap, in favour of simple automation tools sold to small insurance brokers, usually on a consultancy basis. Since series B funding in early 2019 they have made no new sales deals, and have in fact lost two of their biggest pipeline deals. How long before investors pull the plug? Management have no empathy, whilst selling the vision of Cytora being the next 'unicorn'. Growth plans are grossly inflated. Stock options are worthless, and subject to continual dilution.

Thanks for your comments. In any start-up, change is frequent and can feel disruptive but is an unavoidable part of working for a fast growing business. We have the utmost confidence in our brilliant people to continue taking the company forward.

Pros

- Friendly atmosphere; people are very approachable; many have become my mates out side of work - Tons of free snacks - Annual company trip - Modern office building with showers and lockers

Cons

- Current management do not know how to effectively grow the company - Management taking a shotgun approach to product development - 20% of the company were sacked in November 2019 without any justification
