They think nothing of laying off an entire team to take a chance on acquired company talent or unproven technology.
If this review was written 5-10 years ago, the review would be overwhelmingly positive. Career advancement resources were available, in office lunch was provided, the outlook of the company was good, the fellow employees were pleasant to work with and helpful, and they started providing bonuses recently.
Over the last few years the CEO has changed multiple times. The headquarters (and hiring) moves with the new head. The original HQ was Beaverton, OR for decades, then it was Denver, CO and all the jobs moved there, and now it's all Seattle, WA with all the open positions moved there.
DAT/Roper has been on a streak of acquiring other companies in the same sector. They have also decided to outsource several jobs, Support, Software Development, and other areas. Whole teams of employees with decades of experience and loyalty are let go on the chance that overseas companies and new technology can deliver software/support cheaper and more quickly, often at the cost of quality. This includes high value employees that developed the highest rated software in the company.
DAT used to be a household name and was well regarding in the freight delivery industry. That is likely to change with the current direction of upper level management.
