Everyone is miserable in Energy Labs

Pros

Pay, 401k match, Vacation, Good people.

Cons

Company has no clear focus. Continues to chase the shiny object and not bringing current items to value. Most good people have left leaving people that just need to pay bills. When people leave no one does anything. (No lunch, goodbyes, nothing). Technology is from 1998. They ask for feedback and do nothing with it only to ask again for feedback in 2 months to do nothing with it. Everyone is pretty much miserable and either just waiting to jump ship or just collecting a paycheck.

DCP Midstream LP Response

We’re sorry to hear of your disappointment, we endeavor to remain one of the best places to work, and to make our work-environment better by engaging employees and soliciting quarterly feed-back to help create the work-environment and culture our employees would like to see. We listen to the feedback of our employees, and have already made changes. We also continue to make investments in our technology and as we benchmark our industry’s technology against other industries – we know as a whole our industry is behind and we have a long way to go, but we are excited to be recognized as an industry leader. Our technology investment and transformation was highlighted in the March 2019 edition of Midstream Business: https://www.hartenergy.com/exclusives/dcp-counts-technology-get-20-177419 And, with DCP Tech Ventures based in the technology start-up center of San Francisco, we’re looking forward to the future and what is to come.

Toxic Culture Encouraged

Pros

-This is a good starter job. -There is an age gap so retirement leads to mentoring & promotions for younger employees

Cons

They are cheap. They do not offer competitive pay rates the bonus matches you to what your salary should be at competitors- they don't take care of their machinery- but they expect people to manage the plants efficiently anyway. They don't tackle personnel issues in fact if you go to HR, plan on being reprimanded. Their motto is avoid and pretend you aren't there. This is the place that young people start to work at, realize NO ONE wants to change things because that's how it's always done- and then they flee to the next job that encourages innovation, change and efficiency. This is also the place that older people come to nap on the job or take excessive time off claiming medical reasons and retire. Oh and if someone is let go, expect to take on another person's job. I covered duties for 3 other people while working there. They also will spend high dollar on software that don't talk to other programs but expect people to work with it even though it adds hours to their work load. They also trust the ICC (Integrated Collaboration Center) over actuality. Good luck working with those theories! Also- they will give you a tons of surveys on how the culture is-- then a few months later ask again as if that's enough time to change. They then pressure 100% participation. This company has had such terrible, bullying leadership and they encourage such competitive behavior among their subordinates-that's why the turnover rate remains so high. - They switched to a no name insurance provider (Imagine Health??) in the Houston office that no one really is in network for but Blue Cross Blue Shield is still offered in Denver

Horrible nightmare of a company!

Pros

If you’re at the Denver location, you probably will have a good experience. Good corporate standards, love their use of Workplace for FB as a communication tool. Employee engagement (in Denver) looks great.

Cons

Too centralized, out of touch with what’s REALLY GOING ON at the various assets. The operations organization in the NGL group is led by a bunch of egotistical, cowboy, boys club. If you have an ethical backbone and don’t do as they say, you won’t be considered part of their “circle of trust “ & will quickly become alienated by the club. They will find creative complaints about your performance, destroy your reputation and go straight HR to get rid of you. It’s the most dysfunctional, unprofessional, and unethical company I’ve ever worked for.
