Pros
Good for learning general field knowledge Full time employment opportunities Health care and paid holiday benefits Overtime opportunities Subsidized cafeteria is amazing Co-op education seminars Flexible hours really great co-workers overall but saw a lot of turn-around bright and modern offices for admin departments beautiful campus all around
Cons
Little empathy for class schedule Lack of any organized co-op training lots of busy work that adds little value from an educational standpoint unreasonable goals; poor life- work balance poor communication between departments - particularly R&D and admin top scores on performance reviews are discouraged poor management Co-ops are expected to do as much work, if not more, as full time contractors When a problem occurs, there is a lot of "finger pointing" rather then accountablilty
