Pros

You are allowed to work with out obstruction from upper management as long as you do your job well. Best way to do this is to hit your numbers and keep your associates out of hr.

Cons

Mindless work a lot of the time. Most of the associates hate their job. Associates can not work ot for the most part so that has had a negative effect on morale in the past few months. This is largely due to the economic downturn and most associates understand. Health benefits are a benefit that we are going to have to pay for starting in 2010.

Pros

Currently the most stable automotive supplier in the industry. Corporate culture is focused on a "job for life" attitude. The working level attitude is welcoming and the majority of associates are very friendly and helpful.

Cons

Some people choose to take advantage of the "job for life" culture and withdrawal from expending any additional effort to better themselves or the company. The opportunities for advancement are extremely limited. Management positions are plentiful, however they are all occupied and will be for some time. The glass ceiling is set at the senior engineer level. Promotions are widely viewed as being based on time in the company rather than performance. Opinions and ideas of local staff are often ignored in favor of those from headquarters in Japan.

Pros

Great experience if working in design of electrical systems. Worst case calculations in the automotive industry help entry level engineers gain a lot of experience within their first programs.

Cons

There is no incentive to work harder than coworkers because this Japanese company is set up to be fair to all. In other words the company does not properly compensate the individuals that work harder than others.
