Pros

Exposure to partnerships with some of the biggest brands in the industry. As such a big company, you are often the most important account for your vendors, which comes with a lot of purchasing power. You will get exposure to a wide range of people - some buyers have been with the company for 20+ years while others are right out of college - which makes for a well-rounded dynamic and access to a wealth of knowledge and perspectives. The dress code just changed from business professional to business casual which has helped with the overall morale and company culture. The office, although not located downtown, is a first-class facility and has everything you need - cafeteria, full-service restaurant, incredible 2-level gym, dry cleaner, bank, post office, notary, etc.

Cons

Senior management is incredibly political and every one operates by trying to guess what the CEO wants them to do instead of just doing what's right for the business, which often leads to a lot of things going ditch-to-ditch. Systems are cumbersome and outdated which can make simple tasks take twice as long as they should and often creates the need for a lot of rework. There are also a ton of processes in place to ensure accuracy and accountability that wouldn't need to exist if the systems were upgraded. Paid holidays are few and far between - you only get the 5 major holidays off while the vendor community you work with, as well as other retailers I have worked for, get all bank holidays off as well.

Pros

Great place to work as a college student if you like helping customers and working with a team. Many departments to work in and many employees to work with. I made several friends over the years and got to know several managers. Great place to build workplace relationships and professional connections for the future. If you like helping customers and being a social butterfly, it's a great place to work as a college student.

Cons

Pay isn't great, close to or just over minimum wage. Management is switched around often, which didn't used to be the case. I liked managers that worked with me for several years. Some managers aren't so nice and when it comes to promoting, they play favorites and don't always promote people that deserve promotions or are next in line for a promotion. Goals and expectations are higher than ever and it became more stressful overtime instead of more relaxed. I wouldn't go back if they begged me. They also tend to over hire and give many employees very few hours, and during slow times of the year, you may be lucky to get 10 hours. Some you may have 4 hours or none if you are part time. Business has been going downhill and so has payroll. Several payroll cuts effected many employees. May also get asked to work doubles or stay late often, as people tend to call out often and because of availability, there isn't anyone to call in on some days.

Pros

A few helpful fellow employees.

Cons

Worthless long computer training zero leadership from supervisors, random changing hours and short breaks they make there sales people clean the store and clean the rest rooms, there return policies make customers very unhappy. I highly advise anyone find someplace else besides there to work at.
