At times very overwhelming due to the limited staffing.

Pros

Can be a fun atmosphere if done properly.

Cons

Big box stores should always have a night shift staff to process and clean the store accordingly. Dick's does not. It is because of this decision to go without a night staff that the day shift associates are bombarded with expediting large amounts of freight and ever-changing priorities. In the end, customer service takes a hit. Also, a cashier at Lowe's makes more money an hour than a Dick's employee that receives the online training and supposedly is "certified" to sell detailed and technical products such as running shoes or a treadmill.

Pros

I met some good people while working there.

Cons

Company did not seem to care about its employees. Salaried department managers often were overworked and worked more than the store manager. Departments were understaffed, and you were constantly asked to do more with less.
