Pros

Fun crew. Kinda like a family there. As a psc, I don't work in a specific dept, so I can create my on schedule and be off work by 2 or 3. I have it worked out with my managers to be off on Friday/ Saturday. But that just at my store!! Most companies and other stores are way more up tight with your schedule s. Especially with department workers.

Cons

The workloads are overwhelming most of the time. I sometimes have a project that usually need five people to complete. I personally like the challenge, but the finger is still pointed at you if it's not completed. And when you DO have extra help, it lazy help. You may as well run and push harder alone. At least you know stuff is getting done. Opposed to babysitting people that don't wanna help you in the first place.

Pros

The pay was above minimum wage. For every 5 people you got to apply for a credit card, you got a $10 bonus gift card. The work place was friendly. I loved my store manager. I loved almost everybody I worked with. I got to wear athletic clothes to "look the part and sell the brand." The employee discount was decent.

Cons

At the store I worked at in Minnesota, the department manager pushed their loyalty program. He pushed it so far that we, as cashiers, were just supposed to take the information from the customer and sign them up without their knowledge or approval which often lead to us getting yelled at by the customers. I expressed my feelings about that to my manager, and he blew it off saying that this technique works. It wasn't a technique. It was an invasion of privacy, but who cares as long as we have a high percentage of loyalty card members, right? Also, they weren't strict with the call off policy, so the cashiers were usually stuck at work to cover the people who called off. I worked a lot of over time and not really by choice. I believe they should be more strict about calling off. If the excessively do it, they should be fired. It's not fair to those of us who are stuck there to cover their shift.

Pros

Employee discount and friendly co-workers.

Cons

Management at this location is horrible. They definitely have their own agenda and only care about trying to make their budget. Management blame the employees for everything and rarely do you hear a positive message from any of them. It is extremely negative, demotivating environment. It is hard to have a positive attitude while working there. The pay is well below average for the area. There is little to no advancement opportunity. The General Manager of this location should be an Assistant at most. As a management team (senior management included) they have no idea that the problem is actually the management and their lack of ability to treat people fairly, nicely and positively. As a whole they are completely clueless as to why they are losing good people regularly and can't seem to hit their "numbers" on a regular basis.
