Pros

You work pretty independently while at a client.

Cons

The company does not invest in its employees and expects employees to use vacation days while on bench and pays very low salaries. They also don't have a very good network. Employee morale is very low. During down time, they also reduced salaries of employees.

Pros

You get paid even if you are on the bench since the employment model is salaried and your contract is reviewed every year. Very little travel as the staffing model is region specific.

Cons

Most of the managing directors do not know how to sell to clients. In fact, there are a number of clients who do not want to speak with the regional MDs because of poor communication skills. DLC pours "consultants" into a concentrated group of firms and just milks them. Most of the placements are staffing level roles and does not serve for career progression

Pros

A lot of good promises to lure you in. The pay is good when you are not on bench.

Cons

here is the bottom line, they will lie to you to hire you, they will tell you whatever you want to hear, just know that you are a number and the 'utilization rate' metric is how they run their business. not their clients, not their employees. If that rate is high it means they need bodies, if that rate is low it means layoffs and furloughs. Not many talk about the bench or review it, but hear me out I have spoken with over 10 consultants who got laid off simply because they were on the bench for 2 months; it is not their fault, the moment DLC's business slow or that rate drops they lay people off because they hire without planning ahead, they ruin many careers and livelihoods. Stay away!! they will hire you when they need you but once the market slows down they will let you go in 10 weeks tops. Do NOT leave your career for this it is not worth it. Dear future clients - know that DLC will force their consultants to tell you what you want to hear even if the consultant is not comfortable saying or doing the job. Consultants cannot say no to them and hence you get a mix bag sometimes, some consultants are very good some are not its not the consultants fault its how DLC sells a contract by asking consultants to stretch their skills to get awarded.
