Pros
People-centered workplace, DNV has established high ideals - integrity is paramount, since the primary value of the company is knowledge-sharing. Therefore DNV values its clients by valuing its workforce. Specifically, DNV's values are "to care for each other and the planet, dare to explore and be courageous, and share knowledge and collaborate" (internally, while ensuring confidentially of clients' proprietary information of course). DNV's purpose "to safeguard life, property, and the environment" supported my own life goals to be a positive force in this world, and that made my work meaningful. My supervisors and co-workers were very smart, thoughtful, and supportive.
When energy markets shift, as is happening in the US currently, DNV is capable of shifting focus to ensure overall company viability. I worked in the Renewable Energy division (that was my passion), focused on supporting the energy transition toward electrification and clean energy.
Cons
Consulting can be stressful, there's no getting around it. Hitting chargeable hour targets, and meeting at times very tight deadlines, requires careful time-management and right-scoping of project work.
