Was a Great Place to work until buyout

Pros

I have some amazing memories of DRB systems. I made a lot of friends there and still connect with them today. I enjoyed the work I did, despite sometimes having stressful moments with the customers or products. While technical support was very unorganized, everyone was determined to make the best of it and do what they could to keep spirits high and queue numbers low.

Cons

I believe I was in the first wave of "disappearances" years ago. The company had recently been bought out by a new firm, and it was soon after major changes started happening. Technical Support was restructured, however did not improve. Issues arose with how things were being done to train newer technicians to a higher level as well as when to escalate an issue. Laziness started to take hold and caused many "simple" issues to have a band-aid put on them or simply escalated for a higher technician, wasting time of those with more experience in the products. It became about numbers as well, meaning there was a benchmark that was especially impossible to meet at higher tiers. New product training was rare, and most likely just a video and a small quiz afterwards with no real value. Unfortunately, as I stated before, I was let go from the company after 2 years of hard work and countless hours of overtime. I was let go due to reasons that were not true, specifically the use of time off.

DRB has over doubled in size over the last few years. Many companies experience growing pains when managing significant growth like we have had. I recognize that change can be uncomfortable. However, while the size and structure of our company has changed greatly over the past few years, our core values have not. We have worked hard to maintain our fun and collaborative culture. Pros

Pay decent, vacation time adequate, work environment is tolerable.

Cons

keeps taking away benefits to working there a little bit at a time.

We try to maintain a balance of the benefits that are offered, so I think that leadership would be very interested in learning what benefits have been taken away that are affecting your opinion of working for us. We cannot address the specifics of any problem unless we understand what they truly are.

A once great company that is now a disappointment to the industry.

Pros

All of the pros have been reduced to nothing to benefit their bottom line.

Cons

Most positive aspects of the job were cut due to the overly prideful leadership who would rather let go of a large amount of the staff instead of taking a loan out to allow them to continue operating at a normal capacity. The company suffers along with their customer's level of service. They cut salaries almost across the board, laid off many, furloughed many more, and tried to spin this as a positive. They also used to advertise above average benefits to compensate for the mediocre, at best, salaries, but cut those to be absolutely abysmal and tried to make the sound as if it benefitted the employees when it was obviously to benefit their bottom line only. I would not recommend this company anymore, especially with them encouraging employees to astroturf their reviews with positives when there are no remaining pros.
