Used to be great. Now the company management has started to sink the ship.

Pros

-Free soda (except only select employees are allowed in the building). -Free gym (except it's closed). -Free Pie Day (except we can't be in the building to enjoy it). -Free "Disk Golf course and Basket Ball court"... Oh, you mean the 1 portable basketball hoop and 1 portable disk golf basket because they let an employee take the other one home? DRB Systems used to be a great place to work. Great benefits, great bonus opportunity, 401k matching, etc. Now our prescription insurance is literally "This app called GoodRX will be your best friend" as HR put it. Or for high-cost prescriptions you can use ShaRX, but only after you give them 2 years of detailed tax returns and medical history, prescription history, home expenses, etc. I'd rather be audited by the IRS. There is no 401k matching. They cut salaries for any employee who wasn't furloughed.

Cons

They let go of a lot of employees due to the pandemic. They put another 45 on furlough for at least 1.5 months. They would rather let go of loyal and dedicated employees who were with the company 20+ years than get a loan to hold things together during a struggling economic period. HR Recently sent an email to select staff asking them for "Honest and Candid reviews on Glass Door" that would "Help fight the negative reviews that were recently posted". The "Negative" reviews are all truthful and accurate representation of the current state of the company.

I worked at this company for close to five years while it was still owned by the family who started it. It was a great company to work for and I was happy to go to work each day. Family owned companies have an incentive to care about their workers and reputation along with their profit. Unfortunately this company was sold to a capital investment company who turned this operation into a "pump and dump" and the company was sold again to a different investment company soon after. After the company was initially sold priorities changed to pure profit-grabbing and we struggled heavily in finding the right people. Our CEO at the time was from the restaurant industry and wasn't the right person for the job. I personally had four bosses in a two-year span of time, all of them fired one after another. We took on more middle management burnouts from Diebold and our support department took on a quantity-over-quality philosophy that hurt our reputation. There is also something very upsetting about being lectured on company cultured by people who only started a few months ago. There were a lot of awesome and unique people at DRB that I'm happy to still know but this company has turned into the blind leading the blind. Most of my outdated work is still on their website. You'll notice they advertise on their homepage as having a "4.5 on glassdoor" but that's since decreased and they don't longer have the top workplaces award for 2019 on there. This is a sinking ship.

First off, thank you for taking the time to write this review. Many things have changed in the past few years since being a family owned company. Since being acquired as a family company there have been a many changes, our company has almost tripled in size, we have acquired 4 other companies and the board has adjusted the leadership accordingly. While we do have quite a few individuals from outside companies and because of our geographic location many are from Diebold. We have a very intense hiring process and choose the best people for the job, we look for experienced individuals that fit into our company model of hungry, humble and smart. Just like in past messages the size of the company may have changed and some managers may have changed but the amazing culture has not. The amazing staff of DRB is what makes up our amazing culture. Lastly, DRB just like many other companies across the US, have had to make difficult decisions these past few weeks because of Covid-19. This pandemic has left many verticals in tough place and car wash market was one of them.

Talk about the importance of employees & culture.

Cons

Importance of employees & culture are just words, but when it comes down to it profit and new customers are only thing important to this company. Low pay in comparison.
