Pros
Team work is key here. If you have a strong work team, you most likely have a happy work experience. There are some genuine youth workers in programs who care a lot about their jobs. The kids are great, and you can tell the org really cares about them, always putting the youth first.
Cons
While team work is key, sometimes managers who aren't hands on or far removed can hide behind their strong team. Perks aren't available to everyone. Usually the same people get access to the cool stuff like tickets and events. Part-time staff seem to not even have access to helpful trainings offered and opportunities to mingle with full-time staff. Growth doesn't come to you based on experience and hard work, but based on your relationships with people. There is very little if any growth in the programs unless you have a pre-established relationship with the manager.
