DSST Public Schools reviews

I've worked in many schools and this was the longest school day and the most meeting heavy. The coaching and rating system is tedious and asks for teachers to give their absolute all and still fall short of a high score. Teachers who perform well struggle to maintain a healthy personal life and so many adults are burnt out. Then, the system asks for more. The special services are lacking and administration lacks knowledge/expertise. Turnover rate is high. Teachers express needs, and change is non-existent. Lack of curriculum and high expectations for lesson plans. Inconsistent implementation of evaluation rubrics across schools in network. Professional development is geared towards inexperienced and non-licensed teachers, pushing away teachers with degrees or outside experience.

Terrible pay, terrible hours, management that uses bullying tactics and psychological games to force you to comply with their out of touch agenda, tons of favoritism towards people that are willing to lick their boots and non renewal of contracts of those that dare point out their inappropriate ways and choose to stay and fight instead of quitting like they want. Overall a very negative atmosphere to work in, and the negativity shows on a lot of students that are there.
