Pros

Opportunity to connect with students on a daily basis and serve as a positive role model

Cons

-Awful work/life balance .... the network looks to fill every single possible minute with additional work and responsibilities for its teachers. They treat teachers more like machines than human beings. I saw countless teachers mentally snap from the overload -Like many Title I schools, you'll get a ton of push back from the students, and the amount of leverage you have as a teacher is minimal. You can assign a detention, but many students get 5+ detentions a day (and they don't even show up to detention), so it becomes a meaningless tool. Support from home for a lot of the students is often minimal or nonexistent. -The school day is longer than most if not all school districts, yet teacher pay is less -You are constantly being evaluated as a teacher by an incredibly harsh rating system...I saw many skilled teachers get very low scores -CEO strikes many as an egotistical maniac

Pros

Staff/colleagues were welcoming and friendly Corporate gives you free stuff and feeds you at large gatherings

Cons

Workload is overwhelming lack of discipline from administration, leading to students acting out and disrespecting adults daily Teacher turnover is astounding, likely due to terrible work/life balance and stress levels through the roof daily with expectations high and no support/follow-thru from admin

Pros

The teachers care and everyone involved wants whats best for the kids

Cons

An environment where it is praised to overwork the teachers - Looked down on if you are not spending 12 hours a day working. A system that might work for some kids but truly overworks them and represses their individuality.
