Pros

Best boss that I could hope for. Is no nonsense, so expects great work, but doesn't micro manage, sticks up for the team, understands the need for continuing education to name a few. The recent ownership change is very promising. Went from large French corporation (Schneider Electric) to private equity with a proven track record of growing companies for the long term. Hoping this translates into better benefits and overall compensation (which aren't horrible currently, but could be better). New top level management is world class. At least one of the main product C-levels are up there pretty close as well. Overall in very capable hands at the very top.

Cons

Low. Cube. Walls. Developers need a quiet atmosphere with minimal interruptions, but when the company was still S.E. they remodeled to low cube, open environment. A vast majority of the people are not happy with this, but the money was spent and I doubt it will change any time soon. Vacation accrual and carry over is limited, and may not be 100% legal (but should be in flux with the recent ownership change). There have been a few years of poor decision making within a few of the product segments leading to poor revenue growth (and losses). Again, the potential for turn around is better now with new ownership. The HR transition from Schneider Electric to DTN has been poor.

Thank you for your feedback. We take feedback like this very seriously and will review these topics with leadership. The vacation policy changes in Nebraska were addressed last year and further updates to the PTO policy are now in progress as we were not allowed to make changes under SE. Stay tuned! We apologize for any hiccups in the very short HR transition from SE to DTN and have been working hard to attempt to have no impact to employees, however we know that this has not been as smooth as we would have liked and have taken steps to ensure that any other changes like this we will learn from past struggles. If there are other HR issues you would like to address, feel free to get in contact with your HRBP or the VP of HR.

Pros

Laid back, friendly, and casual work environment. For the most part it is a very fair and pressure free place to work.

Cons

Management has problems turning a laid back and casual work environment into dollars. As a result, we usually end up rushing products out the door unfinished for the sole purpose of hitting some manager's project quota. Additionally, due to the financial situation of the company, many of the perks you would find at other companies are missing. For example: bonuses, company parties/outings, encentive programs, team building experiences are all virtually non-existant (unless it comes out of the managers pocket).
