Pros

I've worked for several large dialysis companies and like most, DaVita is profit-driven. They do a lot for their patients, but with such a lucrative business, they could do more for their employees. DaVita is far and above better than the top US provider of dialysis services in employee retention, pay, and benefits.

Cons

I think the headline says it all.

It's not worth it

Pros

You get to know some amazing patients who are on their way out of life and have some amazing things to share.

Cons

Company does not care about you or the patients. A productivity level is pushed that is mathematically impossible to achieve if you follow the laid out SOP's. Davita, covers itself by having you sign contract assuming all responsibility (including legal litigation) if you stray from SOP's which everyone has to in order to achieve company goal for daily productivity. Pay is literally the equivalent of the local big name gas stations, stress level is insane on a daily basis. As a former D-1 athlete they make you run and sweat. This company thrives off of first generation immigrants who speak English as a second language. Nothing against my wonderful coworkers, they are some amazing people but if the NAACP knew what really went on here, I think this company would be in national news. It's not worth it! Unless "The Village" they proclaim to have is based off of North Korea, it doesn't exist. If it's too good to be true, it's probably not. Biggest career mistake of my life! You are warned.

Pros

Paid training free for you. A lot of knowledge. Benefits (are not that good) but at least you have options.

Cons

No work or life balance. 14 hrs on your feet. You have to pay your 1/2 hr. breaks. A lot of work. Non stop and very demanding for $14.50 to $15.50 the hr. The expectations are that after 9 weeks you became an expert and flip 3 patients in 15min. Per patient. Impossible without a huge risk of cross infections (very usual) and worst if you don't have any previous experience. If you are not from the Philippines it's going to be hard because they exclude and help there ones... yes, a disgrace. You have to do a lot of online training at home or you will regretted. It's a lot of hours and they expect you to do it (another thing they don't tell you) without pay at home. If you insists to work there, get the experience and go some place else.
